Stop the bad habits before they start! These programs are for people who have never owned a dog or who need guidance with their new puppy. Topics covered may include potty training, problem solving, crate training, nutrition, grooming, veterinary care, socialization, appropriate play, and leadership.

Did you know:

  • The optimum time to socialize your puppy is before 12 wks old.
  • Improper socialization can cause fearfulness & aggresion.
  • It is critical to establish leadership with an adult dog or puppy as soon as you bring him home.

    You should schedule your lesson to take place the day after you bring your new puppy home so your new best friend will have a safe and nurturing environment from day one. Having a new puppy in the house is very much like having a toddler. It’s not easy, but the Puppy/New Dog programs will start you off on the right path.

    It will reduce YOUR stress level and give you the information you need to raise a confident, well-adjusted dog.  And, you will be allowed to put a portion of the fee toward Sacramento group dog training lessons should you decide you would like to enroll in one of our dog obedience classes or host a party.

    Seminars 

    The Dog Lady is available to give educational lectures and information sessions about dog behavior and dog behavior modification. Seminars may include information about dog handling, dog training, canine behavior/body language or other dog obedience and behavior topics as requested. How much is that doggie in the window, the one with the waggity tail.

    We are interested in educating everyone about dogs and animal behavior. Subjects can include information about various breeds, the behavior patterns of different dog breeds, animal communication, how to properly interact with dogs, and how to pick the right dog to be your family’s pet.

    Through experience we have learned that people are more likely to have positive interactions with dogs if they learn pack leadership and canine training concepts. Families are more likely to pick the right dog and understand how to be responsible dog owners if they’re properly educated. Our seminars are also great for dog clubs and groups. If you would like more information about the seminars, contact me.

    AKC Canine Good Citizenship
